OBJECTIVE
The aim of the research was to implement one state-of-the-art algorithm for object recognition and object tracking towards the development of an indoors autonomous drone.
Even though the unexpected pandemic made it impossible to conduct live tests on the drone, the results obtained through the research showed that the implementation of the YOLO and ATOM algorithms for object recognition and tracking was a complete success.
This research project allowed me to apply my knowledge in probability, algorithms, programming, and digital control that I acquired through my career. I even had to step out of my domain knowledge and learn about computer vision and machine learning.
